Tastings:
Holy City Brewing: Monday and Tuesday 4pm-6pm and Wednesday-Friday 4pm-7pm.
Coast Brewing: Thursday from 4pm-7pm and Saturday from 11am-2pm.
Westbrook Brewing: Thursday and Friday from 4pm-7pm and Saturday from 12pm-4pm.
Total Wine & More: Every Thursday from 3pm-7pm. Sample up to eight craft beers for free.
March 20th
Vino Burgerz will host Westbrook Brewing for a beer dinner where they will be pairing their specialty burgers with Westbrook's beers. Event starts at 6:30pm and cost is $35 per person. Call for reservations 881-3155.
March 22nd
Total Wine & More will host a beer class called "Introduction to Beer: Get Your Suds On." Enjoy an enlightening taste of what beer is really all about in this session focusing on: 1) The difference between Lager and Ale, 2) The four core ingredients in beer, 3) The meaning of “malty”, “hoppy”, “balanced”, and other beer descriptor words, 4) The most popular beer styles and their appearance, aroma, taste, and mouthfeel. Come away knowing what beer styles you like, why you like them, and how to ask for them when in the store and out on the town. Class will be from 6:30-8:30pm. Cost is $10 per person. March 22nd
Ted's Butcherblock will be hosting their annual Spring Craft Beer Dinner, featuring new seasonal beers paired with the fresh flavors of spring. Dinner starts at 7:30 and reservations are required. Price is $48/person and can be had by calling (843) 577-0094. Here's the menu:

HoM (burger boutique located downtown) and Holy City Brewing will team up for a six-course Beer Dinner. Tickets are $60, and will include two reception beers (8 beers in total). Total Wine & More will host a "Locals Only" Beer Class, featuring local author and beer writer Timmons Pettigrew. Pettigrew will lead a tasting of 8 local beers. Call (843) 763-7034 to reserve your spot. Event starts at 6:30pm and price is $10!
April 1st
17 North Roadside Kitchen will host the 1st Annual Local Lowcountry Beer Festival. Event will be from 1-8pm. "This is a festival for the local Breweries of the Lowcountry of South Carolina to show off their beers and exchange knowledge with the local homebrewers in the area. All while having some great food and listening to some solid local bands. Holy City, Palmetto, and Westbrook breweries will be in attendance as well as the local homebrewers group. It is an all age event so kids are more than welcome to attend with their parents and enjoy the day." No word on price yet. Stay tuned.
April 15th
The Classic City Brew Fest will be held in Athens, Georgia. They will have 250 different beers to sample, as well as a New Cask Ale Pavilion featuring roughly 15 rare cask real ales. Tickets are $39.00 and can be purchased online here.
April 19th
Total Wine & More will host a beer class called "Great Breweries: Great Beers." A journey spotlighting some great beers and the breweries that brew them. Several breweries will be featured and discussed along with a tasting of multiple beers from each of their portfolios. Learn more about the breweries and the character of the beers they produce. Class will be from 6:30-8:30pm. Cost is $10 per person. Seating is limited. Call (843) 763-7034 to register.
May 26th
Oak Barrel Tavern will host a Homebrew Contest. There will be 3 categories: Ale, Porter-Stout, and Other. Stay tuned for more information.
June 23rd
The Charleston Beer Garden 2012 will take place from 1-8pm at Brittlebank Park in Charleston. "Inspired by the festive biergartens of Germany, Brittlebank Park will be transformed into the largest pop-up beer garden Charleston has experienced. Featuring a great line-up of craft brews, tasty treats from Charleston’s food trucks, live music, beer school, and more, this festival won’t disappoint!" Tickets are $25 in advance, $35 at the door. VIP Tickets are $50 in advance and include some sweet extras such as VIP Reserve Beer Tastings, VIP Grove Access, and VIP Parking. DD tickets are $15 and need to be bought in advance.
