Charleston Brewvival 2012 tickets are on sale now. I was fortunate to have attended the 2011 Brewvival and thought it was the most kick @$$ beer festival I had ever been too. Mainly because the quality of the beers were out of this world. This beer festival is different from most and that is because the breweries are PAID by the organizers (Charleston Beer Exchange & Coast Brewing) rather than having to donate the beer. This results in the breweries bringing some of their craziest, zaniest, creative, high gravitiest beers in their portfolio. Here's some examples of what I was able to taste last year (from what I can remember): Allagash Bourbon Black, Avery Rumpkin, Bell's Hopslam from Cask, Bell's Batch 9000, Coast Old Nuptial Bourbon Barrel Barleywine, Duck Rabbit Bourbon Barrel Aged Porter from Cask, Foothills Sexual Chocolate from Cask, Highland Barrel Aged Kashmir IPA, Sierra Nevada Barrel Aged Life and Limb, Smuttynose Short Batch #1 The Gnome, Stillwater A Saison Darkly, Stone Dry Hopped Double Bastard, Westbrook Uberbier #3. After that, I remember nothing! Here's a flashback to 2011 Brewvival:
So here's what you need to know. Charleston Brewvival is held in the field located next to Coast Brewery. This is in the Old Navy Yard in North Charleston. The date is Saturday, February 25th from 12-6pm. Ticket price is $50 and includes all beer samples and live music. You can purchase tickets online here or in person at the Charleston Beer Exchange or Coast Brewing Company during normal hours. Food will be available and costs extra. You can bring chairs and refillable water bottles. You cannot bring coolers, outside food, or pets. Shuttle service from downtown (visitor's center) will be available. Keep checking the website if you want to purchase shuttle tickets. They will be available soon. Also they keep updating the website listing the breweries that will be attending this year's festival. If you have been to this festival then you already know it's a great time, if you haven't then this is the year for you to check it out. Be there!
Cheers!
